( Dry, before she offers a bit of a smile. Just a bit of one. ) Come on. Unless you wanted a drink in a pineapple, or something.

[Not her best attempt, but come on, it's her first time defending a pineapple's honor.]

( She sighs, but is already walking towards the tiki bar, so help her. )

( Who knows why. Maybe just because Ruby is determined to support pineapples, for some bizarre reason. ) They're...

( She turns at that, walking backwards a few paces, hands resting behind her head. )

I was thinking pineapple drinks could be to go, but we can grab something later, if you want. ( A lazy sort of shrug. ) I hear booze and the beach aren't always the smartest combination in the world.

( Which is to say that it's Ruby's call, and despite her grumbling? Rosita really doesn't mind either way.

I can't say I've combined them often, but they're not too bad, I don't think.

How about we skip the pineapples for now, but keep them in mind in case we get hungry later and want to have a drink or two with dinner?

( Stopping her tiki-ward stroll, Rosita weighs the options. )

( But somehow she'll live with it, apparently. Rosita's hands drop to her side, swinging slightly. )

You caught me. Whenever I'm seducing a woman, there are fruit-cups and tiny umbrellas involved. It's part of my foolproof technique.

( She doesn't laugh laugh, but she does smile, exhales her breath slightly harder so it could almost pass for a huff of amusement, and shakes her head. )

( Her sigh sounds so aggravated, and she shrugs. )

( She reaches the water, wanders in up to her ankles, and turns to idly flick water at Ruby with her foot. )

I'll learn to live with it, I guess.

[Really? Rosita is getting SUCH an eyebrow raise right now.]

( Rosita agrees, before cracking a bit of a grin. )

I think you'd get along with Tara and Eugene, though. ( ... ) Which is concerning.

Are they pretty cheesy too?

Tara's cheesy. Girls like a damn fondue. Eugene is... ( A liar? Coward? Loser? Like a brother? A... Kind of weird, sometimes skeevy brother. Smart as hell? ) Weird.

Just how cheesy are the people back home?

Well... did you ever see that movie Enchanted?

[Hmm. Maybe a little too on-the-nose?]

( She is just going to pause for a second, crossing her arms as she stands in the water, gaze turning just a little suspicious. )

I'm concerned about where this is going.

[Well, she was mostly making a joke, but now she's wondering if this is maybe the time to go into things in a little more detail...]

How much have I told you about where I come from?

[She joins Rosita in the water.]

( Which, to be fair, is probably more a reflection of what Rosita held onto moreso than whether or not Ruby actually told her anything more. Last time they really spoke about their own worlds, Rosita's pretty sure she had a gun on hand, and mostly in hand. )

People don't stick guns in other people's faces as often.

( A edge of self-mockery in that, the way Rosita puts edges in everything, makes everything sharp, as if she needs her words to act as a backup weapon in case things go south. ) Does your world involve a lot of musical numbers?

No, not too much of any of those. But... you know how the Porter thing works, dragging us into this world from other ones?

That, um, actually wasn't the first time something like that had happened to me. I lived in Maine for most of my life, but I actually wasn't born there. I was originally from a world that looked a lot more like... something out of Game of Thrones, maybe?

[pejoratives]

( Several points give her pause, the most important of which is the talk about the Porter and other worlds and having experienced something like that before. On the one hand, maybe it made some kind of sense. On the other hand, it making sense relied on the fact that the Porters existed at all should make sense in some way, and Rosita is still unsettled by all that.

Her hands settle on her hips, like she can somehow make this situation comply a little more to her liking through the power of low-key aggressive body language, and her jaw tenses, though the way she's looking at Ruby is more worried than anything. Worried with a side of furrowed brow.

I've never heard of any... Game of Thrones. ( She frowns a little more. The tragedy of the world ending before worldwide television sensations happened. )
